Azalee Mammie Dishman, age 95, of Clinton passed away peacefully Saturday, October 29, 2022.

Azalee attended Greenway Baptist Church where she loved and enjoyed her church family. The last two years she lived at Parkview Senior Living, where she met some wonderful people and enjoyed her porch view. Gamedays were her favorite, BINGO and Price Is Right with her best friend Frances.

She loved her family and friends fiercely. Her passion was singing gospel and bluegrass music. She also loved clogging and square dancing with her music friends and family. She has been on several Heartland Series episodes over the years singing at many different events in Tennessee. Her last debut was her 95th birthday party at Rickard Ridge BBQ, Cove Lake. She was on stage with “Chicken Man” and sang “I’ll Fly Away”.

Born Azalee Mammie Brandenburg, May 24,1927 in LaFollette, TN. She was the daughter of Gilles and Celia Brandenburg.

Preceded in death by her husband, James Cleo Dishman, parents, sisters, Elizabeth Henderson, Ruby McCullah, Gerlie White, Ruth Stokes and brother, Charlie Brandenburg.

Survived by:

Sons: Glen Hill and wife Linda, Fred Hill, Lonnie Hill, Larry Dishman and wife Peggy.

Grandkids: Charlene Hill Jenkins and husband Tyler, Tyra Fox and husband Stanley, Lindsay Williams and husband Mark, Willie Hill, Tim Hill, Melissa Hill, Brad Jones, Brandi Budds and Channon Dishman-Flores.

Great Grandkids: Emilee Cardwell and husband Will, Caleb Stooksbury, Chasity Jenkins, Adisyn Fox, Emersyn Fox, Holland Williams, Cameron and Colby Rogers, Dillon Groce.

Great-Great-Grandkids: Grayson and Hudson Cardwell, Kynslie and Ryker Rogers and Laikyn Groce.

Special Niece: Louise Giles

Special Nephew: Carl Henderson and wife Jan.

A host of nieces and nephews from LaFollette and Michigan, which she loved as her own.

The entire family would like to thank her special granddaughter Charlene and husband Tyler. They took her into their home and gave her the best care that she could have ever ask for. She was able to enjoy her family and friends surrounding her with lots of LOVE.

The family will receive friends at Cross-Smith Funeral Home in La Follette, TN from 12:00-2:00 pm Sunday November 6, 2022. Funeral to follow visitation with Rev. Danny Light and Bro. Will Cardwell officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksboro Cemetery.
