JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – TCAT President Debbie Petree called this week’s scholarship donation from the Lions Club “astounding.” Petree knew the club was going to present a check to the school. However, she didn’t know it was going to have that many zeros. The $5,000 check was presented on Wednesday morning, and those scholarship dollars will go a long way toward helping as many as 10 TCAT students, according to Petree.

Here’s the real check going to the TCAT scholarship fund.

“Sometimes students are in need of extra assistance to keep them from dropping out when they cannot find any other resources. These $5,000 could possibly help as many as 10 students,” said President Petree.

A big check for a big donation.

This marks around six donations to the TCAT scholarship fund the Lions Club has donated over the last few years. “We are so grateful to be able to assist students through our partnership with the Lions Club,” said Petree.
