LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The LaFollette Planning Commission held its monthly meeting Thursday afternoon at city hall.

First on the agenda, Scott Gollobin purchased three lots on West Fir Street. These lots already contain three single wide mobile homes and a shed. However, two of the mobile homes need to be removed and replaced. They cannot be replaced with new single wide homes due to a city ordinance. Gollobin will be in contact with Codes Officer Jeff Duncan to figure out the best course of action for his new property.

Next was a request to turn a zoned commercial building into apartments. The building is located at 307 East Central Avenue, right beside Red Roof Market. However, there may be an ordinance that does not allow a commercially zoned building to be converted back to a residency. The commission along with the city’s attorney will be digging further into this matter before any decisions are made.

Lastly, the commission brought up the short term rental at 504 East Central Avenue and confirm that all members knew that it was supposed to be an Airbnb. It was confirmed and noted in the minutes. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/28/2022-6AM)
