That’s Cove Lake in the background in this winter photo of the Byrd home. The home is long gone, though Gold Creek Foods and TCAT now occupy the area across the lake from where the house once sat.

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – On this Throwback Thursday, WLAF’s Charlie Hutson shares a rare photo of the Byrd home.

This home sat along the four lane between Elkins Road and the cemetery.

The Odevah Byrd family lived in this home until it burned in the summer of 1979. All that stands today is an out building that can be seen from the road. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/27/2022-6AM)

  1. Thanks to You for this picture. I grew up there but have never seem this photo. The house was built by Greer Yoakum, my grandfather.

Also thanks to Rick Parks for bringing this to my attention.
