NASHVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – State Senator Ken Yager (R-Kingston) made the following statement regarding $788,000 in federal grants to support highway safety enforcement and education efforts in District 12 which includes Campbell County.

“I’m thrilled District 12 counties are receiving nearly $800,000 in federal highway safety grants. This funding will support crucial enforcement efforts that will improve the safety of our roadways, including high visibility enforcement of traffic safety laws as well as enforcement of driving under the influence laws. The funding will also support highway safety education programs and public awareness campaigns. I thank the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) for distributing these funds and for all their work in reducing traffic crashes, injuries and fatalities throughout the state.”
