JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – In an abbreviated match due to Thursday night football on The Hill, the Lady Cougars hosted the Knights of J. Frank White Academy. Amber shares her full photo gallery HERE.

Knowing they had a shortened clock, the Lady Cougars did not waste time in taking every available shot on goal.

The defense was strong allowing the offense to have at least ten shots within the first half alone. Maddie Mitchell was the first to find success in the ninth minute followed up in the eighteenth minute by teammate Kiersten Witherspoon.

Campbell’s Lauren Asher soundly denies a White Academy Knight a look at the ball.

The Cougars went into the half leading 2-0. Although ahead, the score did not fully represent the shots that were on target, but were not able to make it passed the Knight keeper.

The Lady Cougars continued to find success in the second half with shots taken again by almost every forward on the pitch.  Casey Clark took a free kick that was awarded due to a tripping foul, the ball went through the wall built by the Knights resulting in a third goal for the Cougars.  In the fifteenth minute, Jenna Stephens found the back of the goal for a fourth goal of the match.  Late in the game in a small glimmer, the Knights were able to score one goal leaving the final score 4-1.
