Michael Frederick Lanciault, age 76, of Jacksboro, TN went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the evening of Thursday, September 15, 2022.

Michael was born on April 24, 1946 in Caracas, Venezuela, where his father was a surveyor for Standard Oil New Jersey. He had many unique experiences growing up in another country, which he often shared with his family. They encouraged him to write a book of all his adventures, many of which included his beloved dog, Duke. At the age of 14, he moved to Worcester, Mass. to attend Assumption Prep for high school. He then attended Tulane University for architecture but later transferred to University of Florida to pursue a degree in construction management.

Michael’s life radically changed in his early thirties when he put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died on the cross for his sins and rose again. His faith permeated his life as he was always quick to share the gospel with those the Lord placed in his life. He met his wife Brenda at church, and they were married on December 5, 1987. He faithfully shared the gospel with his children, Aaron, Sarah, and Bethany, and personally led Bethany to faith in Christ. He continued to instruct and encourage his children with Biblical truth into adulthood. Some of his last words were used to share the truth of the gospel with loved ones. He was a faithful member of Grace Bible Church Plantation in Florida for over 30 years.

Michael was a hard worker from age 8 when he got his first job delivering newspapers. While attending UF, he would work as a laborer building houses during the summer breaks. After graduating from UF, he worked in construction management for his whole career. He greatly enjoyed constructing buildings in Puerto Rico, all across the state of Florida, and in a few other states. He later shared this love of construction with his daughter, Bethany. He was the Executive Vice-President of James A. Cummings Inc. where he worked for over 30 years. After retiring at age 73, he moved up to his beautiful home in Jacksboro, TN, where he spent his final years with his wife and family looking out over the Cumberland mountains.

Michael was a loving father and husband. He was a servant leader and a mainstay and strength to his family. He inspired his children to pursue higher education and to start their own businesses. In his free time, he enjoyed watching PGA golf tournaments, learning about and discussing world events, and cooking gourmet meals for his family from his French heritage and grilling ribeye steaks, his specialty. He will be greatly missed, but it brings so much comfort to his family knowing that he is now in the presence of Jesus.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bertrand and Marion Lanciault; Brother, Bertrand “Randy” Lanciault. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Brenda Joyce Lanciault; Son, Aaron Matthew Lanciault; Daughters, Sarah Marion Lanciault and Bethany Grace Lanciault; Brother,

Gary Lanciault (Judy); Nieces, Shaun Hackelberg-Rock, Stephanie Sortore, and Elisa Warden; Nephews, Matthew Lanciault, Titus, Micah, and Seth Marvin; sisters-in-law, Elia Lanciault, Lisa Marvin (Matthew); and brother-in-law, Larry Petitt.
