CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – A busted tail light caught the attention of Deputy Courtney Charles last Wednesday. Charles was traveling south on Hwy 116 when she noticed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop at Vasper Missionary Baptist Church on Old Vasper Rd.

She spoke with the passenger in the vehicle identified as Amanda Kay Cooper.

According to a report from the sheriff’s office, Cooper allegedly reported to Charles she had a glass pipe hidden in her private area. Charles placed Cooper in handcuffs and sat her in the back of the patrol car.

A check of warrants revealed an active warrant for Cooper’s arrest. Cooper reported that she also had “a baggie of meth” with the glass pipe.

Cooper was transported to the jail, and the items were retrieved during booking. Once the items were retrieved, Cooper allegedly reported that she had smoke Meth two hours prior.

Cooper, 41, 1085 South Hwy 25, LaFollette was charged with possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation (criminal court). (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/16/2022-6AM)
