JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County Board of Education meets in its regular monthly meeting this evening at 6 pm at the Campbell County Courthouse. See the full agenda HERE.

As at every September meeting, the appointment of a chairman and vice-chairman will take place at the beginning of the meeting. Following, three guests will be recognized; Joshua Madsen, Zeb Proctor and Gale Stanley.

Madsen wants to address issues that have gone unresolved in regard to his children as well as several board policies being violated, and no action taken. While Proctor will be addressing school security stating his intention is to encourage a positive discussion about finding solutions to schools’ lack of security. Stanley would like to introduce a history of Campbell County exhibit presented by Postmark La Follette. The traveling exhibit will go to all Campbell County Schools with 6th grade and above students.

Consideration of adding two new teaching positions will also discussed. Those positions are for a kindergarten teacher at Caryville Elementary School and a pre-K teacher for Valley View Elementary School. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/13/2022-6AM)
