Come Tuesday morning, there’ll be a lot of smoke around this home, the Hollingsworth house, with fire units from the La Follette Fire Department on scene and firefighters going through smoke training.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Those of us of a certain age know the house as the Hollingsworth house while others now it as the house across from Taco Bell. Regardless, come Tuesday around 8am, there will be a lot of smoke in and around that house.

“Weather permitting, we’ll have a three day smoke training session at the Hollingsworth house. That’s Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Sept.6-8,” said La Follette Fire Chief Jimmy Pack.

Most Campbell Countians pass by this home every week, if not daily.

Pack goes on to say that LFD Training Officer Joey Gilbert will have all LFD veteran firefighters and the rookies team up during the smoke training. “Each shift will then go back and evaluate their performances,” said Pack.

New firefighter training will be conducted at the Hollingsworth house for the next several weeks.

“The smoke we’re using during all this training is EPA approved and is non-toxic. It’s environmentally friendly,” added the Chief. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/02/2022-6AM)

  1. Another historic home, classy in its day, goes up in smoke. Why not focus on the real eyesores of this town off the heavily congested 4 lane.
