Scammers trying to talk you out of money for a fire station

PINECREST, TN (WLAF) – Scammers were out Monday evening, and they are out to get your money. “Don’t fall for this. The Campbell County Rural Fire Service has a fire house set up at the old Pinecrest School,” said Daniel Lawson with the CCRFS. The scammers are asking for your money and your signature saying they are trying to get a fire station in Pinecrest.

Lawson says the calls he’s received have been from folks mainly in the Pinecrest area. “They don’t park their car where maybe a camera could pick it up, and they are walking up to homes. If you can safely get any photos of the scammers, their car or car tag, please do so,” said Lawson.

He adds for you to please call 911 and report the incident if you have encountered a scammer. Road officers with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office are aware of the situation and so are the operators at Central Dispatch. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/29/2022-7PM)
