LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – All the planning over the last year for the annual JAKES Day hosted by the Pine Mountain Longbeards was put into motion on Thursday as the massive set up began onsite at the Ball Farm and Event Center. See Charlie Hutson’s full photo gallery HERE.

Hours, days and months of preparation have gone into this year’s JAKES Day.

The JAKES Day (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship) program, hosted by the Pine Mountain Longbeards Chapter of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation (NWTF), is in its 11th year while the Longbeards Chapter marks its 21st year.

Countdown to JAKES Day is well underway.

Ball Farm was a busy place with tractors pulling trailers loaded with tables and chairs, setting up tents and event trailers at different locations around the farm. Inside the event center, goodie bags were being put together for the 200 kids expected Saturday morning.

Last year with kids, parents, workers and volunteers, there were around 600 attendees. They are expecting the same amount or more. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/12/2022-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
