LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – After lunch at Charley’s Pizza, Roger Jackson climbed aboard his big rig and rolled out of the parking lot at the Community Trust Bank Wier Woods office on Wednesday headed to Kentucky. The trailer was loaded with donations of water, cleaning supplies, clothes and more.

From Tuesday morning to lunch time Wednesday, Jackson’s truck went from empty to full thanks to the generosity of Campbell Countians and others pitching in to help flood neighbors in southeast Kentucky.

Your donations filled this trailer in short order from Tuesday morning to Wednesday afternoon.

“We’re going to Pike County, unload there, and then they’ll load supplies on four-wheelers and drive the supplies to homes in Letcher County, the next county over. Letcher, they say, was the hardest hit area,” said Jackson.

“We’re gonna bring the truck back here to the same spot and load it again,” Regina Blankenship with CT Bank said. Blankenship said there were still promised donations that could not fit on the first run.

Jessie Longmire and his grandsons rode shotgun with Roger Jackson to Kentucky on Wednesday.

Jackson’s truck will be taking one last load planning to leave from the Community Trust Bank Wier Woods/Jacksboro parking lot sometime on Thursday or early Friday. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/04/2022-6AM-UPDATED 08/04/2022-2:30PM)
