Mrs. Bonnie Ann Wilkens

Age 81 of Pioneer, Tennessee passed away Monday August 01, 2022, at her home.

Bonnie Wilkens came to Jellico with Dr. Charles Wilkens to help with his medical service in the community. Bonnie had her Master’s degree in nursing and taught at Loma Linda University before starting a family. Raising her kids to love the Lord and serve Him was her highest aim. She and Charles, her beloved husband of 60 years, had the same goals of serving those sick or in need. If you were to describe Bonnie, it would be in these two words, “she loved.” She had a way of encouraging and uplifting the most downtrodden soul. Anyone who met her came away feeling better.  The Lord gifted her with an eye for beauty in people and things. She decorated the medical offices, the church, and many parties and showers through the years. She loved to laugh and did so frequently. If there was a game or fun to be had Bonnie was all in. Especially, Bonnie loved to share God’s love to all she came in contact with.

Born August 19, 1940, in Florida, Bonnie is succeeded in death by her husband Charles Wilkens, and Father Charles Botys. She is survived by Mother Betty Boyts, sister Nancy Smith, Son Greg Wilkens, wife Wendy, kids Megan & Eric, Son Todd Wilkens, wife Marsharee, kids Kelsey, Kalli & Kori, Son Darryl Wilkens, wife Laura, kids Ashley Hill and husband Seth, Trace Wilkens and wife Cienna, Trenton, daughter Kerri Boone, husband Steve Boone, kids Riley and John, and many loved nieces and nephews.
