JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – With the sun out and humidity thick already, former Cougar star and current assistant Coach Nick Bailey was as wet as any player a half-hour into Wednesday morning’s 7am practice on Reynolds Field. “Heck, I’ve been working hard, too,” said the man who wore jersey number 7 for the Orange-n-Blue the season it finished 10 & 2 in 2013.

The first preseason scrimmage is always an exciting time, and the Cougars hit the field tonight in west Knoxville to take on the Webb Spartans. “You always go into this first scrimmage with a lot of unknowns though it will give you an idea of how you’ve improved since the spring,” said Campbell Head Coach Justin Price.
Price describes this as a good test for his Cougars and adds just how well coached Webb is. “Hopefully, we’ll go into it and find some things that we’re pretty good at and find some areas that we need to improve on over the next few weeks,” said Price.
The Cougars and Webb begin their scrimmage at 6pm on Faust Field.
The regular season kicks off at home this year as Chattanooga Central visits. Les Martin and Brent Allen return for their 12th season of calling all the action of Campbell Football.
