JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – A Newcomb man is housed this morning in a familiar setting, the Campbell County Jail.

Charles Cecil King was a wanted man out of criminal court. Little did he know that a traffic stop due to a light law violation would soon have him in handcuffs. Even though King was the passenger in the white 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe that was pulled over, the deputy ran a routine warrant check that came back on King.

A violation of probation warrant put King back in jail after the July 15 traffic stop along Creekmore Housley Drive outside of Jellico. It was 9:35pm when Deputy Dakota Williams placed King into custody and transported him to the county jail.

King, 51, 347 Newcomb Loop Road, Newcomb, has no bond and is scheduled to appear in court first thing tomorrow morning. According to jail records, this was the 50th time King has been arrested. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/27/2022-6AM)
