LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF – PAID AD) – Veteran law enforcement officer Darryl Chapman continues to work fulltime as a La Follette Police Officer. However, he is now seeking to serve his community as the constable of the second district.

Constables can arrest and do most everything a police officer can. But it varies from county to county across the state.

So the answer depends on where the constables are located in TN.

Qualifications to be a constable are 21 years of age and ability to read and write…

These qualifications are way too low, in today’s society, training and qualifications are paramount in law enforcement. The public demands law enforcement to be trained to have proper and exceptional training.

I am a 34 year veteran officer and still counting. I have a college degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science. I’ve served in many capacities as an officer, such as narcotics detective, detective, training officer and community policing officer. My qualifications allows me to do any duty of a law enforcement officer in the State of Tennessee.

I believe constables should be required to have the same qualifications of a certified police officer in Tennessee because both have the same authority.

Here are a couple of pictures with captions. Please click on them on my Facebook page and see the details. I have been honored to work under some great leaders.

Please vote for experience and dedication, vote for Darryl Chapman for Campbell County District 2 Constable. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/22/2022-6AM-PAID FOR BY DARRYL CHAPMAN)
