JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – After a strong thunderstorm shortened Campbell’s 7-on-7 with Bearden on Tuesday, the Cougars get right back to the field for 7-on-7 action today and Friday.

On Thursday and Friday, July 14 and 15, Campbell will play in a tournament style 7-on-7 at Powell. Come Monday, the acclamation stage of the season begins.

Though time was limited for Campbell on Tuesday as the Cougars could not out hustle a thunderstorm, the Orange-n-Blue did look really sharp. Quarterback Landon Hensley three three touchdown passes. Two of those balls went for 50+ yard scores with Devon Jones and Peyton Ferguson on the receiving end while Ethan Miller took his reception to the house as well. Mason Shanks claimed the Cougars lone interception.

“We look forward to improving our pass offense and pass defense these next couple of days,” said the 12th year head coach.

Campbell opens the season on Friday, August 19, at 7:30pm, when the Central Purple Pounders out of Chattanooga visit Dossett Stadium. WLAF will also be there for all the radio, TV and internet coverage as Les Martin and Brent Allen return for their 12th season of calling the action over the WLAF – Doyle’s Tire Shop Sports Network.
