LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Thursday night, the Campbell County Children’s Center will host its 7th annual fundraiser, Hand in Hand for the Children, from 6 pm-8pm at the Ball Farm Event Center.  The event will feature more than 60 sponsors/donors and 60 area businesses who have donated in-kind items for the live and silent auction.

The fundraiser kicks-off with 20 candidates speaking from the podium as well as having their favorite dessert up for auction.  The live and silent auction features auctioneer Billy Ball.  Dinner will be provided by Rickard Ridge. “Fundraisers are such a vital part of the organization, and we are so excited that we can gather again with our friends and supporters.  This is going to be a lively evening, and we are looking forward to our time together,” said Tracie Davis, CEO of the Children’s Center.

The Campbell County Children’s Center is a child advocacy center, non-profit 501(c)(3) chartered by the State of Tennessee.  It was founded in 2001 to provide a safe haven for sexually and physically abused children.  Instead of being interviewed countless times at different locations, a child can tell their story to one caring and specially trained professional in a child-friendly environment where the child knows he or she will be safe.

Now more than ever, the Children’s Center needs support, according to Davis, who said the organization has been extremely busy in all three counties it serves (Campbell, Claiborne & Union).  “Our existence as an organization depends upon donations and grants,” Davis said.  For more information visit the Children’s Center website at www.campbellcountychildrenscenter.org or on Facebook @CampbellCountyChildrensCenter.
