LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- As part of WLAF’s continuing election coverage, candidates for the county commission and board of education were sent questionnaires in June. Today, candidates in the first district county commission race responses are being published. Each candidate was sent a copy with instructions on how to complete the form along with the deadline. There were no responses from candidates in the fourth and fifth district county commission races.

Featured today are David Adkins, Becky Aiken, John Bucksbaum, Dwayne Gibson, Hollie Boshears-Helton, Zachary Marlow, Mike King, Steve Sewell and David Wormsley.

The responses are being published as submitted by the candidate. Each question, unless otherwise noted, had a 200-word limit on the answer. In cases where it appears an answer ends abruptly, the candidate exceeded the word limit and their answer was truncated at the 201st word.

  1. I sincerely thank WLAF staff for publishing these candidate responses, and the ballot template. District 1 has the largest number of county commissioner candidates and I have been puzzled how to choose. These responses are very helpful. I didn’t want to cast my vote blind.

  2. As a candidate, I think it is very important that there are avenues for people to see what your feelings are on key topics and want to thank WLAF for providing this platform for people to get a glimpse of who you are, your thoughts and your life life experiences. – Thank You.
