Shirley Rose Byrd Clotfelter, age 86 of Caryville walked peacefully into Gloryland on July 3, 2022. Shirley was born on February 16, 1936 to Luther and Nola Byrd. She was a graduate of Jacksboro High School where she played basketball. Shirley was married to Rhea Clotfelter for 46 years, and they had two sons, Kenny (Theresa) and Keith (Starla). She was an employee of Peoples Bank of the South for 35 years where she enjoyed serving her community and building many long lasting friendships with her customers. After retiring from the bank, Shirley worked at Cross-Smith Funeral Home where she continued serving her community. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church of Caryville and a devoted member of the Faye Harness Circle. She never missed a Lady Vols basketball game, enjoyed talking on the phone with her friends, and most of all spending time with her family.

In addition to her sons, Shirley is survived by her grandchildren Ashley (Marshall), Micah (Ashley), and Lucas (Emily) and great-grandchildren McKenna, Abigail, Faith, and John Marshall.

Family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday, July 6 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with funeral service following at 7 PM in the Cross-Smith Chapel. Family will meet 10:15 AM Thursday, July 7 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Woodlawn Cemetery for 11 AM Interment.
