It was just another day at the office for K-9 Diesel as he alerted LPD investigators to marijuana leading to cash and a weapon.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Neighbors called and complained. Investigators with the La Follette Police Department responded. The complaints surrounded the strong suspicion of illegal drug activity, and officers confirmed those suspicions.

Just before 2pm Thursday, LPD Detective-Sergeant Matt Forsyth knocked on the door of apartment 204 at 209 North 5th Street. Forsyth asked for consent to search the apartment and was given consent.

Assisting the detective-sergeant were Officers Jami Hall and Anthony Mahar along with K-9 Diesel. “Diesel alerted, and led us to nearly two pounds of marijuana,” said Forsyth. Officers also located a large amount of U-S Currency.

Arrested were 24-year old Jamarcus Deon Holloway of 370 Elkins Road, Jacksboro, and John Joe Wiedmann, 53, 209 North 5th Street, Apartment 204, La Follette.

Both men were charged with the manufacture, sale and delivery of schedule VI and possession of drug paraphernalia. Holloway was in possession of a weapon and was charged with possession of a weapon in commission with a dangerous felony.

Holloway and Wiedmann remain housed in the Campbell County Jail this morning without bond as they await arraignment. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/02/2022-7PM-UPDATED 06/03/2022-3:45AM))
