LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – It’s expected to be mostly sunny with temps right at 80-degrees when La Follette Owls Jake Hatmaker, Lily Kingsly and Kaitlyn Sweat arrive at Howard Gamble Field on Saturday morning to take part in the Tennessee Middle School Track & Field State Championships.

The trio of Owls will compete against the best in the state at the Saturday track meet, which starts at 9am. These three Owls will take part in four events with hopes of becoming the best in the state.

Owl Jake Hatmaker, a 7th grader, will participate in the high jump while 8th grader, Lily Kingsly also high jumps. Kaitlyn Sweat has two opportunities to claim a state championship in the discus and shot put events. Sweat is in 8th grade.
