Orange you going to the Lions Club Carnival this week? Colonel Bill McDonald (retired) is promoting the annual carnival and invited WLAF’s Big Josh to come out this week to the carnival.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The big trucks from the Great American Carnival are due to arrive on Monday, and crews will begin setting up for opening day, Tuesday at 4pm, of the big Midway.

The fun begins Tuesday at 4pm in Downtown La Follette.

The annual event is hosted by the Lions Club, and discount coupons are available at La Follette merchants. That coupon offers a discount off on the $25 wristbands (wristbands are $30 on Saturday) that are needed to ride the rides. Individual ride tickets are also available. Colonel Bill McDonald with the Lions Club said admission is free and there is no charge to park.

Lots of work is yet to be done before Tuesday’s 4pm showtime.

Carnival dates are Tue., May 17, through Sat., May 21. The hours are 4pm to 10pm Tuesday through Thursday, 4pm until 11pm on Friday and Saturday hours are noon until 11pm.

Temporary workers are needed this week to help with the carnival. Apply on the carnival grounds.
