LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – National Hospital Week celebrated at Tennova La Follette Medical Center not only recognizes our local hospital but the clinics and Health & Rehab Center (nursing home) that are all a part of TLMC.

During this week, associates have enjoyed a popcorn bar (popcorn & candy toppings), an appreciation meal (barbeque and the fixings), pretzel day (everyone enjoyed a pretzel) and today, everyone will partake in donuts and coffee. All staff members also received a green Tennova T-shirt.

La Follette Medical Center opened on this hill on the east side of town in 1956 as the La Follette Community Hospital.

May 8-14 is National Hospital Week and the Tennessee Hospital Association is proud to honor and recognize the vital role that hospitals play in our communities and the dedicated staff who provide much needed care to patients 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

Hospitals provide access to high quality healthcare and are the cornerstone of the healthcare delivery system.  Never has their importance been more evident than over the past two years as hospital staff served on the frontlines in the nation’s response to the pandemic.

THA joins with the American Hospital Association in acknowledging and expressing our appreciation to those working in hospitals throughout Tennessee. Thank you for the sacrifices you have made and your commitment to the health of the communities you serve. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/13/2022-6AM)
