JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – There will be an Advanced Placement (AP) Meet and Greet at Campbell County Comprehensive High School on Wed., April 6 at 5 p.m. in the CCHS Library. Gear Up and AP teachers will host the AP Meet and Greet featuring a brief presentation, a question-and-answer session and light refreshments.

It is that time of year when parents and students begin planning for next year’s school schedule.

As you begin thinking about what you want from your high school experience, consider taking an AP class.  AP classes are nationally recognized, college equivalent classes taught at the high school level by College Board certified teachers.

These classes are intended to prepare students for college level classes and offer college credit to students who score at a certain level on exams. Classes offered at CCHS include AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP English Literature and Composition, AP English Language and Composition, AP Physics, and AP US History.

These classes offer students rigorous content within the high school environment. Reasons for taking these classes are not just limited to college credit, though. Students choose these classes because the class is specific to a field of study, students want to be better prepared for college, and, sometimes, students want to look impressive on a college application.
