CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – A Briceville man was travelling on Appalachian Hwy in Caryville last week in the slow lane of travel when Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Dakota Williams noticed him. As Williams was observing the Chevy pick-up truck, the driver crossed over into the fast lane, then into the turning lane at the red light at the corner of John McGhee Blvd.

The driver then failed to yield for the red light and turned onto John McGhee Blvd. Williams activated his emergency equipment and stopped the vehicle, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.

When Williams was approaching the truck, he noticed the driver was not wearing his seatbelt. The driver was identified as Robert Ray Reagan and was asked for his driver’s license to which he allegedly replied he did not have a driver’s license and was unable to provide proof of insurance. The registration was also expiredaccording to the report from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office. A check of Reagan’s license revealed it was revoked with one prior offense.

Reagan, 46, 107 Moore Rd, Briceville was charged with seatbelt law, violation of TN financial law, violation registration law, traffic control device and driving while revoked. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/17/2022-6AM)
