JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – It was a rough start to the soccer season for the Campbell County High School Cougars last night as they hosted the Scott County Highlanders.  The match began promising as the Cougars seemed to hold their own against the Highlanders for the first part of the half. Halfway through the first half, senior goal keeper Caden Shouse had a dangerous save where he was nearly kicked in the face.  While Shouse took a much needed break, freshman keeper Luke Carroll came in and had a strong performance for his first high school showing until Shouse returned to the field.

The offense could not get any traction however and was unable to get many shots on goal with none hitting the net.

Although the Cougars have a strong defense, it could not keep the Highlanders at bay as the pressure was on them for most of the game.

Ultimately the Highlanders won the match with a commanding score 6 – 0.
