LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Spring fishing and turkey hunting season is upon us and your local Sport Shop has all your hunting, fishing and target shooting needs. 

As of February 10, the Sport Shop is under the new ownership of Mike and Michele Garner, who purchased the business from long-time owners Ronnie and Susie Carroll.

Mike Garner formerly did remodeling and construction work, but he and his wife had been looking to operate a shop locally and the Sport Shop was the right fit.

“The Lord gave me a vision of a bunch of guys hanging around the Sport Shop. I’m a social person and love to help people and I’m big into the outdoors,” Garner said. He has fond memories of the business and had purchased his first bow from Ronnie back in the late 1980s. 

He said he looks forward to serving the people of Campbell County with all their hunting, fishing and target shooting needs.

Garner said he wanted to say a “big thank you” to previous owners Ronnie and Susie for establishing the business and running it so successfully for 38 years and for their support during the sale. Related story on the Sport Shop and its former owners.

“It’s been an established business for 38 years and we appreciate Ronnie and Susie for building the business and supporting us through the transition. I can’t thank them enough,” Garner said.

Come down to the Sport Shop and meet the new owners and check out new merchandise, new displays, upcoming upgrades and a new storefront look. 

Sport Shop has a variety of guns and accessories, bows, tree stands, camouflage clothes, boots, fishing supplies and more. Turkey, duck, squirrel and deer calls, as well as a large variety of shooting accessories are available, as are rods, reels, lures, live bait, and fishing accessories. The business can also issue hunting and fishing licenses.

Sport Shop is located at 1203 Jacksboro Pike next to the former IGA location in LaFollette. Business hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9a.m. to 5p.m.  For more information, call 423-562-0035.
