JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Last week’s Sleep in Heavenly Peace events hosted by United Cumberland Bank and the First Baptist Church of Jacksboro were very successful. Bill Thompson, president of the local chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, says “thank you” to the more than 60 people who helped in one form or another.

“Whether you dropped off twin size bedding at the Fill the Van days on Thursday and Friday or helped build beds on Saturday, we greatly appreciate your help,” said Thompson.

“No kid sleeps on the floor in our town,” noted Thompson.

Those who participated have made a difference in the lives of 28 youngsters in our community adds Thompson. “Kids who didn’t have a safe, warm bed of their own will soon have one thanks to all those of you who helped this past weekend,” said Thompson.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is an organization that builds beds for children who do not have a bed. For more information, you can call Thompson at 407.678.2638 or visit the website. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/11/2022-6AM)
