LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The untimely death of Ed Wheeler in November, the December ouster of Mayor Mike Stanfield and the departure of Dwayne Gibson in January because of an ordinance change prompt changes to the dynamics of the City of La Follette Regional Planning Commission.

Today at 4:30pm, the planning commission convenes in its regular monthly session and is expected to appoint a new chairman, vice-chairman and secretary. Wheeler served as vice-chairman and secretary while Joe Bolinger will likely be reappointed to his chairman post.

William Sterling is on the agenda applying for short-term rental permission for an Air BNB at 818 West Hemlock Street. Brandon Johnson is requesting a property separation at 2545 Jacksboro Pike. Larry Wagner is the applicant representing Territory Holdings, LLC seeking for approval of a short-term rental permit at 1205 Loop Road.
