JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Last week, Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Fox answered a call on Cumberland Drive about a man on the porch banging on the door and screaming. When Fox arrived, he spoke with Jacob Caldwell who was seated in his truck in the driveway of the home. As Caldwell was attempting to step out of his truck he allegedly stumbled and ran into a parked car. Fox allegedly detected the smell of alcohol coming from Caldwell and asked if he had anything to drink, and the man replied he had drunk “a few pints of liquor.” Fox saw that Caldwell he was unsteady on his feet while standing still and almost fell multiple times while attempting to get his identification, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.

Fox detained Caldwell and spoke with the homeowner who said she had invited Caldwell over earlier in the day and when he arrived, he appeared to be drunk. They got into a verbal altercation, and she asked him to leave. When he went outside, she closed and locked the door behind him. He then began banging on the door while yelling and continued to do so after being asked to stop by the homeowner. The homeowner asked Fox make Caldwell leave. Fox searched Caldwell’s truck and found a small baggie with a leafy green substance believed to be marijuana and a small glass pipe.

Caldwell, 39, 619 Shamrock Avenue, Knoxville was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, possession of schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/24/2022-6AM)
