Carolyn Rose (Thomas) Tindle, a Carpentersville resident for 45 years  and recently of Island Lake, IL passed away Monday January 17, 2022.  Born  October 4, 1938 in Newcomb TN, to Merton and Johnnie (Artis) Thomas (both deceased), Carolyn was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Joe Lee Tindle. Also predeceased by siblings: Alta Rule of Pekin IL, Mildred “MiMi” Logsdon of Portland OR, Leroy Thomas of Newcomb TN, Tommy Joe Thomas of Knoxville TN, and Lowell Thomas of Chicago IL.

She is survived by sister Peggy Hatfield of Chicago IL, brother Richard Thomas of Wooldridge TN, and many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn is deeply mourned by her children, Danny (Valerie), Pamela, Steven (Natalie) and Donna (Gary); and her beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Danielle, Tori, Jacob, Amanda, Ryder, Samuel and Oscar.

She was employed at Grayhill Mfg. in Fox Grove IL for 20 years.

Carolyn was a prolific reader of literature and poetry, she enjoyed reading The Bible, word games and spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren and family pets.  In her youth she enjoyed playing basketball (making the All-County Team), singing with her family in church as part of “The Thomas Girls,” and was a fastidious student.  She loved poetry–her favorite “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” by Robert Frost–and could recite it by memory till the end.  Fiercely competitive, she was the queen of the triple-word score in Scrabble and loved her crossword puzzles.

Her heart was so much bigger than her tiny frame and many have been blessed with her love and kindness.  She always said she didn’t have a lot, but she shared whatever she had selflessly.

A private memorial service will be held March 19 in Dundee, IL.  In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Carolyn’s name would be as she wished.
