NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) – A La Follette native received a near unanimous vote to become an associate justice to the state’s highest court. Sarah Keeton Campbell, daughter of David and Gail McCarty Keeton, was confirmed Tennessee associate justice to the Tennessee Supreme Court.

State Rep. Dennis Powers, who graduated from La Follette High School with Gail McCarty Keeton, said Campbell received a standing ovation following the joint chamber vote.

The 40-year- old Campbell, who moved away from La Follette at 11-years-old, fills the seat left by Justice Cornelia Clark. Clark died in September.

Campbell grew up on Camp Ridge Road. Her Campbell County grandparents were the late Fred and Cleo McCarty. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/11/2022-6 AM)
