JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Town of Jacksboro will soon have a new part- time police officer. On Wednesday afternoon, The Jacksboro Board of Mayor and Aldermen met and approved adding a part- time police officer to its existing force.

The board also approved replacing a door on the building that houses the police department and repairing a floor in the same building. The repairs are needed due to some water issues.

Mt. Perkins subdivision has been faced with storm water runoff issues for several years. Caryville Jacksboro Utilities Commission (CJUC) has worked on correcting issues as they arise. However, a new area in the subdivision is experiencing issues. The board agreed for CJUC to do improvements that would help with the runoff issues. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/11/2022-6AM)
