Herschel D. McCarty, age 84 of LaFollette passed away Wednesday, February 9th at his home. He is preceded in death by wife: Carol McCarty, Parents: Orice and Mollie Lamb McCarty, brother: Odell and Olen McCarty, granddaughters: Amber and Alisha McCarty, stepson David Veler. He served in the US NAVY, and was a tugboat Captain.

Survivors:

Children: Rhonda Dison, Rebecca (Ronnie) Hollifield, Steve McCarty, Donna Byrd, Roger, Mike, Herschel Jr., and Joel McCarty.

Special Grandsons Brandon Dison and Kristian Mosier.

Special Granddaughters Kylee Mosier and Kamryn Mosier.

Brother: David (Suzie) McCarty.

Sister: Cobia Stagnolia.

Several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives, and friends.

Family will receive friends from 12-2 PM Saturday at Cross-Smith Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow at 2 PM with Dr. Carolina Curtiss, and Dr. Norma Welch officiating. Interment following funeral service at the Sunrise Cemetery with military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard. .
