Mary “Sue” Watson

Now these three remain: Faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Sue Watson, long time resident of LaFollette, TN, passed away February 7, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, where she had first started attending with the love of her life, Michael, for 55 years. She was a Godly woman who put her hope and faith in the Lord, and those who knew her would testify to her absolute devotion to her church and family.

She was also a lover of UT sports and the Atlanta Braves. At any given time, you could find her singing along to Rocky Top and rooting for her favorite teams. Her happiest moments were spent at the beach, amusement parks, or anywhere else that she could spend time making memories with her family.

Her loss will be deeply felt by all those who knew her, and the love she showed to those she loved will last forever.

Sue was proceeded in death by her loving husband Michael Watson, her parents Charles and Lily Hunley, her brothers Paul Hunley, Don Hunley, Bill Hunley, her sister Anna Mae Webb, and Fred and Pearl Hunley.

Those left here to mourn her passing are her siblings Clarence (Perrie) Hunley, Carl (Wanda) Hunley, Bessie Lawson, and Margaret Hunley. Her children Renee (Gary) Gulley, Pam Welch, Tony Watson, Becky (Brian) Meredith, and Timmy Watson. Her grandchildren Carrie (Lee) Brock, Chris Watson, Miranda (Gary) Rice, Ashley Welch, Amanda Gulley, Brandon (Mistie) Welch, Kayla Smith, Danyal Smith, and Hannah Smith. Her great-grandchildren Alesia, Dillon, Eli, Jaydan, Alexis, Cameron, Grant, Everleigh, Addeagh Rose, Addison, and Dylan. As well as a host of other distant relatives and close friends.

Her funeral will take place at Martin Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 PM with funeral services to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Mark Gillum officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:15 AM on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Elbert Rose Kitt’s Jr Cemetery for an 12:00 PM interment.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Welch, Chris Watson, Lee Brock, Brian Meredith, Gary Rice, and Joey Coppock. Honorary pallbearer will be Colby Wilson.
