Smoke poured into the sky just before 11:30am Monday morning from this home on Jellico Highway.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A frame home went up in flames soon after 11am Monday morning. Smoke was billowing as water was sprayed onto the structure that sits just below Hwy 25W/Jellico Hwy. That’s in the 1400 block up above Hatmaker Straight not too far from Downtown La Follette.

Protecting nearby structures was also a priority.

Firefighters with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service (three units) and La Follette Fire Department responded to the call where temperatures are just a above freezing, and there are patches of ice along Hwy 25W. The Campbell County EMS and Sheriff’s Department also responded.

A third unit from the Campbell County Rural Fire Service rolled up after WLAF News had left the scene.
LFD Firefighter Dewayne Seiber (CORRECTION: This is Jason Seiber) suits up to fight the fire.

There were no injuries, and the home appears to be a total loss. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/07/2022-11:45AM)
