James Wesley Norman, age 61 of Elk Valley, Tennessee passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022. He was born on December 11, 1960. James was a medical technologist at U.T. Medical Center for several years.

He is preceded in death by his father James Lee Norman; his grandparents James and Mary Douglas Brown and Woodard and Sybil Norman; sister Pamela Norman; aunts Marie Brown Thompson, Elizabeth Brown Lynch, Emma Helen Norman, Joann Campbell, and Muriel Brown Brewers; and uncles Dr. Ted Brown, James Brown, George Washington Brown, and Don Norman.

James is survived by his mother Shirley Brown Norman; niece Amber Lawson; great nephew Alex; aunts Irene Stratton, Cynthia Jones; uncles Sonny Norman, Ronnie Norman, Roger Norman, Darrell Norman, Harold Norman; special friend Peter Mullins; and a host of relatives and friends who will miss him very much.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM on Thursday, February 3, 2022 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Kenneth Ballard officiating. Family and friends will meet at Baird Cemetery at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 4, 2022 for interment.

  1. All have my condolences. I just had one conversation with James after he suprised me by taking a picture while I was typing. He spoke my name and I turned around. He may have been under the impression that I was mad, though I wasn’t, I was just surprised. When I asked why he took that picture, he said a teacher or someone like that had told him to do it. I was a Sophomore and he was a Junior. That photo went into the yearbook.
