Billy Ray “Bill” Shown, age 79 of Jacksboro, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was born on July 2, 1942 to the late Alonzo and Emma (Moses) Shown. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired coal miner that enjoyed fishing, walking, and spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Clayton, Avery, and Frank; and sisters; Ida Shown, Letha Fraley, and Irene Ballard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Jo Ann (Foust) Shown of Jacksboro; daughter Tawanna Shown and Tony of Jacksboro; sons Mark Shown of Caryville, Todd Ray Shown and Alli of Caryville, and Adam Shown and Rita of Jacksboro; brother Ed Shown of Jacksboro; sisters Geneva Russell of LaFollette and Odessa Emory of Illinois; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on February 3, 2022 at Indian Creek Baptist Church with funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev Larry Russell and Rev. Bill Wilson officiating. Interment to follow the funeral service at Indian Creek cemetery.
