JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – David Wayne Collins of La Follette was driving on a revoked driver’s license, according to a report from Campbell County Sheriff’s Det. Sgt. Gary Jeffers.

Jeffers was patrolling Highway 25W when Collins was allegedly driving a red Toyota sedan with a cracked windshield. Jeffers determined the driver’s view was being obstructed as a result of the damaged windshield and initiated a traffic stop on Main Street at Jacksboro.

Jeffers requested driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance from Collins. Collins provided him with a Tennessee identification card and allegedly stated he did not have proof of insurance. A license status check of Collins revealed his driver’s license was revoked with three prior driving on revoked offenses.

Collins was placed under arrest and transported to the Campbell County Jail. He’s due in court on February 17. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/19/2022-6AM)

  1. There are way too many vehicles being operated on our roadways with cracked windshields resulting in unsafe vehicle operation. Owners of these vehicles don’t care about the community’s safety, let alone their own. Would like to see law enforcement pull over more of these vehicles. They’d probably find a large number of these drivers don’t have a valid driver’s license and/or insurance.

  2. You know it’s not only the Rich people that has car insurance. And it’s not everyone in this town that is on drugs, or repeat offenders
