Here’s an LUB truck heading out on Sunday evening to a power outage.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Here as we close in on 4pm, it marks a non-stop 24-hours for crews with the La Follette Utilities Board.

The LUB crews have had a busy time starting at around 4 pm yesterday afternoon. At one time, more than 7,000 customers were out of power. That number now stands at 27.

“Many of those won’t be restored until at least tomorrow,” said LUB General Manager Kenny Baird. Baird goes on to say that most of the system damage was caused by wet, heavy snow and was in the northern part of the system in the Duff, Stinking Creek, White Oak, Clairfield and Wynn communities.

“Hopefully, our crews will get to go home by dark today to get some well deserved rest,” said Baird. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/17/2022-3:30PM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
