CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – On Monday evening, the Caryville Board of Mayor and Aldermen announced the winners of the annual Christmas Light Contest.

The first place prize of $300 was awarded to Carol and James Dopp on Jordan Lane while the second place prize of $200 was presented to Martha and Don Tackett on Maple Street and Robert Kane on Madison Lane received the $100 third place prize.

The street department will be receiving new equipment soon. The board agreed to purchase a snowplow for $6,595 for the new Ford F550 truck. The plow has been ordered and is slated to arrive in May. This addition means that all street department trucks will be equipped with snowplows. Purchasing a sweeper for the new boom mower for $5,500 was also approved.

Replacement lighting on Main Street with new LED bulbs was discussed. LaFollette Utilities would complete the upgrades for the town. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/12/2022-6AM)
