LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Those of a certain age will remember La Follette’s long ago tall, very tall chief of police, Howard Gaylor. Memory has it that the chief stood six-feet, seven inches tall. Upon further review, Dennis Powers, a cop’s kid, has the better memory. The state representative explains that Howard Gaylor, who worked with his father Hugh on the La Follette Police Force, was actually seven-feet tall. In fact, below is a photo of the chief courtesy of WLAF’s Charlie Hutson.

Coolidge weather predictor Betty Vann released a bold snow total prediction on Wednesday afternoon. Vann claims it may snow today hip deep to Howard Gaylor. We sure hope you’re wrong this time, Betty. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/06/2022-6AM)
