JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Tiffany Baird is WLAF’s teacher of the week. She has lived in Campbell County her entire life and has been married to her high school sweetheart for 15 years. They have three “beautiful little girls”.

Baird teaches second grade at Jacksboro Elementary School and has been an educator for 12 years.

Tiffany Baird is this week’s WLAF teacher of the week, and she’s pictured here with her family, husband Andy Baird and their three daughters, Molly, Lacey and Sadie Baird.

Even as a young child,  Baird said she felt a calling from the Lord to be a teacher. “It is always what I wanted to be, and I never wavered in that decision,” Baird said.

In elementary school, she had two wonderful teachers (Tammy Baird and Dawn Chapman) who later in life became her colleagues and friends. “Their passion for me as a child made me want to be just like them and help the children in Campbell County,” Baird said.

She loves teaching second grade, and her favorite subject to teach is Reading. “I love seeing a non-reader take the skills I have given them and by the end of the year grow a skill and passion for reading,” Baird said.

Her  favorite part of the job is seeing the students’ smiling faces every day.  “It sounds cliché, but I can be having a bad day and when they come in and we say, “Good Morning”, their little faces light up and they have the brightest smile.  In that moment, everything I do, and all the bad moments are gone.  All I see is the love of the child and their happiness.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/30/2021-6AM)
