LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – William “Willie” Thomas Poston is housed in the Campbell County Jail this morning without bond. Poston was allegedly behind the wheel of a car a Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper was pursuing on Old Jacksboro Pike last Monday at speeds of 90 miles per hour, according to the arrest report. The pursuit ended when Poston’s 2001 Honda Civic struck a car and then hit head on with a van on the four lane of US Hwy 25W. Related story and story.

Poston and the driver of the van, Veronica Snyder, were airlifted from the scene of the crash to Knoxville hospitals. Each, age 44 of La Follette, has since been released from the hospital.

On Friday, Poston was arrested by the THP at 12:39pm after being released from the hospital. He faces 20 charges including his 5th DUI (driving under the influence), speeding 90 in a 35 mph zone, evading arrest along with two counts each of vehicular assault and reckless endangerment.

According to jail records, this was the 52nd time Poston has been arrested. He’s due in court on Jan. 25. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/27/2021-6AM)

  1. I am forever going to feel this pain that happened in this accident. Thank you Jesus for covering my son and I!!!!! We could of been left for dead. I will be at this court date!

    1. I’m thinking about going as well, he was never charged for doing this exact same thing which resulted in the death of my 18yr old brother in law in 2007. Hopefully this time he will be thrown under the jail!

    Is his habitual offensive driving enough to warrant him off the streets for 5-10 yrs.?

  3. I blame Campbell County for what that criminal has caused. He has been arrested 52 times. 52 TIMES!! Shame on Campbell County’s justice system.

  4. Hes been arrested 52 times and he was intoxicated….. wow there’s that truck driver in Colorado given 110 years for wreck he caused and he wasn’t even under influence of nothing hummm whats wrong with Justice system
