PIONEER, TN (WLAF) – An Elk Valley man died on his farm Sunday and was found by First Responders from the Jellico Rescue Squad just after 10:30pm.
The farm of Dr. Charles Wilkens is located on Aaron Baird Road near the Elk Valley School. Family members described the doctor’s death as a farming accident according to 911 Central Dispatch.
Also responding to the scene were the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office and EMS.
Dr. Charles Wilkens was 82-years old. Harp Funeral Home of Jellico is handling the arrangements. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/27/2021-6AM)
Such a nice and caring man. He will be missed by sooo many. Prayers and hugs go out to the family.
He will forever be remembered as a humble man and kind and made such an impact on the people in Campbell County he could have moved anywhere an made millions but chose the mountains of Appalachia and that speaks volumes Thank You Doctor Wilkens for your dedication to the people of Campbell County

He was a good man and a great doctor.
I am so sorry to here of this accident. Wilkins was a great man in our community. He was always the same every time you saw him. He had a great personality and he loved everyone. He will be greatly missed. Prayers for his family. I know all of them. Great family!
