This is TVA Camp #14 that housed the 1223 Company of the Civilian Conservation Corps.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The Civilian Conservation Corps ( CCC ) was established by congress in March 1933, and it provided jobs for unemployed young men during the Great Depression. The program had a nine-year life span.

The above photograph is of the TVA Camp #14 that housed the 1223 Company of the Civilian Conservation Corps. The camp was started in October of 1933 and was located in the Flat Hollow area of Campbell County. According to CCC records, there were eight TVA camps based around Lafollette between 1933 and 1935. A lot of the rock work at Cove Lake State Park was done by the CCC. The CCC also provided quite a bit of the labor force for TVA.
