JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Elijah Evans’ criminal case is continuing to make its way through the court system.

Evans appeared in general sessions court last week. His multiple charges were reset for Feb. 2022.

He was arrested in Sept. 2021 following a gas station altercation. Jacksboro Police Officer Jesse Ferguson arrived and found four people arguing, the report said. Two men were standing between Evans and a female reportedly telling Evans “You don’t talk to a woman like that.”

Evans contended he was only “defending” himself after the female made disparaging comments about him.

The other three people told Ferguson that Evans had pointed a gun that them, the report said. Ferguson allegedly did find 9mm handgun in Evans’ possession. At this point, Evans allegedly became belligerent and resisted arrest. He attempted to fight the officers, the report said. Police eventually has to use a Taser to bring Evans under control, the report said.

Inside Evans’ car police allegedly found what was believed to be 13 grams of Marijuana, rolling papers, remnants of smoked Marijuana and $341 in cash.

Evans was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, three counts of assault on an officer, possession of an unlawful prescription, disorderly conduct, criminal impersonation, resisting arrest, unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of drug paraphernalia.
