LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Fishing partners Riley Faulkner and Blake Roberts took first place in the sixth annual Brandon Card College and High School Bass Open tournament held on Sat., Dec. 4 on Norris Lake.

Fishing teams had to meet up at Lonas Young Park at 5 a.m. to start the tournament, with high school weigh-ins back at the park. 

Faulkner and Roberts took first place in the high school division of the tournament, walking away with $1,500 in cash, plus swag bags.  

The pair grew up together and have been tournament fishing partners for the last three years. Currently, the pair is in first place in the Bass Pro Shop’s Tennessee High School tournament series.

Presenting sponsors for the event were Suzuki, Navionics and the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce. 

“The event gave away more than $10,000 in cash and thousands of dollars worth of give-a-way products.  I am so thankful for all the generous sponsors of this event,” said Card.

Tournament host Brandon Card is originally from Campbell County and a CCHS graduate. Card fished for the University of Kentucky and was the first collegiate angler to qualify for the Elite Series.
